IMSPA Launches Nationwide Search for Regional and National Management Board Members

The new Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (IMSPA) has today announced that it is to launch a UK wide recruitment search to appoint sector representatives onto the IMSPA Regional and National Management Boards.

Management Boards are being created within each of the English Regions and Nations, including Wales, Scotland and N. Ireland.  They will be tasked with actively engaging with local current and future members of the Institute, promoting the development of relationships and partnerships amongst stakeholders and facilitating the sharing of information and best practice both locally and nationally.

IMSPA, which aims to represent the one million professionals working in the sport and physical activity sector with one unified voice, is looking for board members from all parts of the sport and physical activity sector to ensure that the new Chartered body is truly representative of the sector as a whole.  From chief executives to students, applications are welcomed from anyone with a keen interest in the sector who wants the opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing the groundbreaking organisation from its very inception.

The announcement follows the first formal appointment by IMSPA in September of Miles Templeman, former Director General at the Institute of Directors, as IMSPA Chair, and the signing of Seb Coe as an IMSPA ambassador.

Sean Holt, interim CEO of IMSPA said:

“To help IMSPA lead the way in driving professional practices across UK sport and physical activity, we are looking for experienced or aspiring professionals from a wide range of backgrounds to join the boards on a two-year term. This is a really exciting time for people to get involved in IMSPA, with those appointed helping to shape history by ensuring that the new Chartered Institute gets off to a successful start."
