| Description | Active Nation is an independent registered campaigning charity committed to working in partnership with local authorities with the mission of ‘persuading the nation to be active’. It used to be called CLS and its re-branding and re-positioning is a purposeful attempt to promote sport and exercise as the principle means of increasing activity participation and reducing the incidence of obesity and other major chronic disease. CLS was the first of a very small number of Registered Charities to engage nationally in Contract Leisure Management. |
| Aims | Our core philosophy is centred on community partnership and continuous improvement delivering quality, value-for-money leisure services whilst reducing barriers to participation.We recognise that to fulfil our charitable objectives we need to engage with communities in the community and not just within the four walls of our leisure facilities. As such we invest time and effort into a strategic outreach programme that is designed to engage with community groups, key agencies and other providers in an effort ‘join-up’ the health and well-being landscape and to maximise the opportunities for local communities. |
| Services | Leisure facility management across diverse indoor and outdoor provision from traditional swimming and sports facilities through to tennis centres, ski slopes and golf courses. Sports development programmes, health and well being programmes in partnership with PCT's, Children and young peoples programmes in partnership with educational agencies are all part of the scope of services. Current Client Partners include Chorley Council, City of Lincoln Council, Rushmoor Borough Council, Southlands School, Vale of White Horse District Council. |
