We are the national body for social enterprise. We represent our members to support and help grow the social enterprise movement. We recently won the Big Impact Award at the Third Sector Excellence Awards 2012, for our work campaigning for the Social Value Act.

The Sport and Recreation Alliance is the umbrella organisation for the governing and representative bodies of sport and recreation in the UK and represents more than 320 members – organisations like The FA, the Rugby Football Union, UK Athletics, the Ramblers, British Rowing and the Royal Academy of Dance.

Sport England is focused on helping people and communities across the country create a sporting habit for life. We are accountable to Parliament through the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

ukactive is the not-for-profit body which provides services and facilitates partnerships for a broad range of organisations, all of which support the vision of more people, more active, more often to improve the health of the nation.                                                                                           
theatres trust As the National Advisory Body for Theatres, The Theatres Trust works with public, subsidised, voluntary and commercial sectors to secure a sustainable future for theatre buildings. Our aim is to ensure that current and future generations have access to good quality theatres that reflect our cultural life and offer inspiring places to enjoy theatre.


CIMSPA started its operations on 1 Jan 2012, following the award of a Royal Charter in late 2011, before which it was operating as IMSPA.The vision statement of the Institute is: β€œTo develop a vibrant, UK wide sport and physical activity sector, led by professionals providing advocacy and leadership and working in partnership with its stakeholders to help ensure the highest standards of service delivery.”

Skills Active

SkillsActive is licensed as the Sector Skills Council for Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being. We also have a number of associated brands who work with specific people and sectors to provide them with the training solutions relevant to their needs.

sport scot

sportscotland is the national agency for sport in Scotland. We are a non-departmental public body, responsible through ministers to the Scottish Parliament. We are also a National Lottery Fund distributor and we are governed by National Lottery distribution rules. We invest Scottish Government and National Lottery resources to develop a world class sporting system in Scotland.

The LGA is the national voice of local government. We work with councils to support, promote and improve local government. We are a politically-led, cross-party organisation that works on behalf of councils to ensure local government has a strong, credible voice with national government. 

sport wales

We are the national organisation responsible for developing and promoting sport and physical activity in Wales. We are the main adviser on sporting matters to the Welsh Government and are responsible for distributing National Lottery funds to both elite and grassroots sport in Wales. 


NCVO champions and strengthens the voluntary sector, with just under 10,000 members, from the largest charities to the smallest community organisations. We make sure the voluntary sector can do what it does best. and money.
