What is Sporta?

Sporta is a membership association that represents cultural and leisure trusts and social enterprises throughout the UK.

Sporta’s Mission

To be the voice for cultural and leisure trusts and social enterprises within culture and leisure and raise awareness of their existence by representing members, promoting their work nationally and facilitating communication and best practice amongst the membership.

Sporta’s Objectives

  • To represent trusts and social enterprises within culture and leisure at a national level to government and key organisations.
  • To promote trusts and social enterprises as the best way of delivering community culture and leisure services.
  • To act as a forum for members, identify common issues and propose collective solutions.
  • To improve communication and share best practice between members.
  • To promote the sporta Charter of Integrity.

  • Sporta's Parliamentary Reception

    Sporta held it's 2nd Parliamentary reception at the House of Commons on 8th May. The event celebrated the role of Sporta trusts in local sports, wellbeing and social inclusion and was well attended by MP's, Peers, and sporta members.

     
  • Guest speakers for Parliamentary Reception and AGM

    The Rt. Hon Maria Miller MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport is to be guest speaker at our 2nd Parliamentary Reception on 8th May. Greg Whyte will be guest speaker at our AGM the following day.

     
  • Commissioning & Tendering Seminars

    Sporta is holding two 'twin' seminars - in London on 25 March and in Manchester on 26 March to provide information and discussion of local developments in local commissioning and tendering of leisure and cultural services.
